Chapter Grand

Jonathan Neal Lewis #394

It is with great sadness that I share tonight the news of the passing of a revered old friend, Neal Lewis, originally of Ft Worth .... Neal was my age, 57, just shy of his 58th birthday in early July, which obviously does not make this any easier, as we all feel that most people are taken from us far too early .... We met our freshman year of college, where we pledged the same fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, where he went on to become both pledge master and even President of the fraternity .... After college, Neal did the one thing a lot of us from Texas always wanted to do, and that was move to Colorado to pursue his career .... Of course, a lot of us who were such close friends were all avid outdoorsmen, and Neal not only immersed himself in the sports culture of the Denver area, but also became an accomplished fly fisherman, a solid reason we were such good friends for so long .... Sadly, his health began to decline these last couple of years, as Neal was devastated by the loss of both his father and his younger brother in the same year, and perhaps was a changed man because of that .... He appears to have passed away peacefully, which I think is the least that all of us can ask for .... Gonna miss you Jonathon Neal .... RIP …

Cheers!  Neal rushed me and my pledge brothers. He was a cowboy at heart driving his blue Chevy truck.  i recall one of our monthly coat and tie meetings he wore his winter coat and tie, just to make a point he would not be told to wear a real suit coat and tie...  Also Neal was the leader of the Chuggin team at BJ's on North street.  We never lost at Greek week chuggin if Neal ( and Stultz) were there.  Rest in Peace Neal - Brent Wiltshire #410/

I am deeply saddened by this. Neal was a great friend, so many memories.

Neal was his own man for sure. I loved playing various intramural sports side by side him. My first date with my now wife was on my motorcycle and we found Neals stolen truck. Of all places in the police compound, they didn't even know they had it. Nacodiches cops - what a waste.

I too loved switching out as the turn man on beer chugging teams. I also remember how hard we laughed on the Phi Delt Spring trip one year as he and I took to the water skinning dipping into the ocean. Our dates were so mad. Last date he had with her, I married mine but she's still mad at me.

Neal I miss you brother, Rest In Peace my dear friend.
