Neil Philipp was my Little Brother as a pledge . He had an amiable personality and was a very social person . Neil endured a tough time as a pledge because many of our Actives thought he was a liar when he told them that he had been a participant in the Mexico City Olympics in 1968 . As I recall , it was a track event . At one point I thought he was going to drop out as a pledge , for no one wants to be branded a liar .  . As it turned out , he had kept his Olympic sweat pants and top . When I found that out , we got in my vehicle and drove to his home , and brought those sweat clothes back to Nacogdoches . I had him bring them to the next Chapter Room meeting to prove that he was not a liar . After that meeting , no Active gave Neil any more trouble or called him a liar . Neil married his beautiful sweetheart Sheila . He was a policeman in Nacogdoches , as he loved that city . We remained close friends until his untimely death in a car accident in Nacogdoches .
