I miss brother Ivy. We were pledge brothers, had the same major at SFA, served together in the Marine Corps and stayed in touch until his death. My parents lived in Lufkin and Donald lived in Huntsville. I lived overseas for a long time and Donald and I would always get togher when we came home. He died of cancer caused by agent orange. Another victim of the Viet Nam War.
It was with great sadness, yet many fond memories, that I noted in the Chapter Grand the passing of Brother Don Ivy!!! I roomed with Don in the majestic old Wisely Hall in the time of yore. He was all grown up already when he came to college it seems. A serious type fine fellow with whom I spent hours discussing every subject known to two young men starting their adventure in life. He was my Big Brother for a time and was a super friend. RIP Donald, my friend and Bud!!! Pops #91
Thanks, Pops for those kind words and great memories of Donald. I still correspond at Chirstmas with Shirley, his wife. They lost their son, Jim, some time in 2016, don't know what happened and don't want to ask.
