Brother Alfred Cherry Thomas was a Dorm Monitor in the old Ferguson Hall when I arrived as a cocky freshman. He was a Forester and lived in Sinton, Rd while I was from nearby Corpus...Bro Bill Kostner was a neighbor of "Bubba" Thomas and I had occasion to bum a ride home at times. Of course, Bubba hated it when traveling with me when I introduced him as the "Dorm Dick" which I did at every stop. We covered many topics on that very long journey. He was instrumental in my pledging as a Phi...and what with grades, the ladies and massive play time for my constant distractions...well, it only took three times....ended up as #91 instead of in the 40s....buwahahahahah! The time of yore hosts many super fine memories for us all.
May good ol Bubba RIP and ride the Chapter Grand Locomotive with the many Brothers who precede him...the front engine is where we should all be riding - first into action, first into Brotherhood and first into improving our world.
BTW, I never did lose my cocky nature as many can attest. Also, I never did figure just what time it was in yore time!!
Seems we are losing many in recent years now so I pray that we endure and for a long while ahead until the Big Bell calls us to hop aboard as well!!
