John Morris Day,71, of Waco, TX passed peacefully into his Savior's arms on Sunday, August 9, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. Services will be at 1 PM, Friday, August 14, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr., Waco, TX 76710. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM, Thursday night, August 13. Internment will be at 1 PM, Saturday, at the Restwood Memorial Park, 1036 W. Plantation Dr., Clute, TX 77531.

John was born June 2, 1944 in Orange TX to Gene and Martha Day of Lake Jackson, TX. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and was a State Farm insurance agent in Waco for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his f, antiques, carpentry, and mission trips. John had many friends. He was kind, gentle, loving and generous. He was always willing and ready to help others. John was preceded in death by his twin sister, Martha Jean Hallmark; his father, Gean Gray, and his mother, Martha Day. He is survived by his sisters, Joanne McDougall of Montgomery, TX and Alice Smith and Houston TX; by his daughter LeAnn Day of Chicago, IL; by his sons, Bartin Day of Cooper, TX and Derek Day of Waco, TX; by his three beloved grandchildren and his numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that their memorials be made to the U.S. Prayer Center in Houston, TX to continue his desire to support missionary projects. http://bitly.com/John_Day_Memorial
