Services for Jack C. Griffith, 44, of Route 4, Palestine will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Earl King and Otis Felton officiating. Burial will be in New Addition Cemetery.
Mr. Griffith died suddenly Sunday. He was born in Palestine December 4, 1941, a son of K.C. Griffith Jr. and Eutha Jeffcoat Griffith. He was an Episcopalian, a 1960 graduate of Palestine High School and received his bachelor of science degree from Stephen F. Austin University, where he was affiliated with the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
While attending school in Palestine, he worked at the former Wagnon Drug Store for both Willie Wagnon and Leon Dietz. For four years he served in the U.S. Army in Fort Campbell, Ky. in the 101st Airborne Group. Mr. Griffith formerly worked for Eaton Laboratories in the El Paso district prior to entering business for himself as a pharmaceutical salesman.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. K.C. Griffith Jr. of Palestine; a daughter, Courtney Paige Griffith of El Paso; grandmother, Lena Jeffcoat of Palestine; brothers, Paul Griffith, Henry Griffith and James Griffith all of Louisville, Ky., Richard Griffith of Lietchfield, Ky., Grady Griffith of Farmington, N.M., Calvin Griffith of Tulsa, Okla. and Frank Griffith of Palestine.
Condolence calls will be received at the K.C. Griffith Jr. residence.
Pallbearers will be Homer Owens, Isaac Knick, Alton Brock, Bob Riley, Calvin Griffith and H.C. Langston.
