Danny Dantzler was not only a Fraternity Brother , but he was also a beloved close friend . I was an Active when Danny pledged PDT about 1970 . He was not only a bright student , but he had a magnetic personality and was always a lot of fun to be around . We had many superb times as college students chasing the sorority ladies , playing on PDT intramural sports teams , and generally enjoying university life as Fraternity men . Danny was elected Sophomore Class President at SFASU early in his college career . He was also a very good athlete and an intramural champion on our Phi Delt Football Team .
I happened to be there on Danny and Susan's first date . It was a powerful attraction for both of them . Neither one had another date with anyone else after their first date . They built a wonderful life together in Dallas after their marriage . They have a very talented son Drake , who filled their lives with joy .
Danny battled cancer for many years before finally losing that battle in February 2023 . He will be missed by many , until we all eventually join him as members of the Chapter Grand . Rest in Peace Brother Dantzler .
