Robert Taylor Fly Jr., 72, of Goliad, passed away on December 11, 2024. He was born in Santa Clara, CA, on July 12, 1952, to the late Robert and Doris Fly. Robert will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his love for family, friends, and Goliad. Robert loved to entertain and was always looking for a new recipe to try. He loved cooking and sharing his wonderful dishes. Robert loved working on cars, motorcycles, and guns. He was always busy tinkering in his outbuilding, working on his next project. He was an avid hunter and car restoration enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, Opa, and an amazing friend. He loved his community and was always on a committee, quick to lend a hand. He was the president of the Goliad Club for several years and was a current member. Robert was an entrepreneur. He spent many years working in HVAC and then opened Fly Supply LLC distribution in Goliad and was part-owner of the Best Little Gunshop in Texas in Goliad.

He married Bonnie Nill on November 19, 1993, in Chapel Hill, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bonnie: daughters, Sara Kathryn Fly of Round Rock, Chelsea Fly (Alyson Beaujon) of Austin, Valerie Baggott (Michael) of East Haven, CT, Jennifer Nill of Queen Creek, AZ; brother Randy Fly (Jennifer) of Wimberly: sister, Suzanne Fly (Barry McMahon) of Eureka, Montana; grandchildren, Ashley Marie Elliott of East Haven, CT, Adam Michael Valles of Phoenix, AZ, Aerik Michael Baggott of Providence, RI, Jacob Gabriel Fly-Backman of Round Rock and Travis Brandon Truitt of Scottsdale, AZ.

He will be missed greatly by all who were lucky to know him. An open house will be held on January 11, 2025, from 6-8 pm at the Best Little Gun Shop in Texas in Goliad, with funeral services to be at Grace Funeral Home on January 24, 2025, at 1 PM.
