Texas Eta Alumni Dinner & Awards Night

We are excited to announce plans for this year’s Alumni Dinner and Awards Night

Through special arrangements with Morgan Rogers, Events Planner at the Fredonia Hotel, we will have the Rusk Banquet Room for the evening at no cost to the Alumni Fund. This private room comfortably seats 40–50 guests, ensuring an intimate and enjoyable gathering.

Dinner will be a step above anything we’ve had before—each guest will order directly from the Republic Steakhouse menu, with full Republic Steakhouse table service provided by their waitstaff. This means no bland buffets—just outstanding food, drinks, and service. Each person will pay for their own meal, beverages, and gratuity at the end of the evening.

The evening program will include:

• Master of Ceremonies: Tom Mason

• Alumni Awards: 25, 50, 55, and 60-year Alumni Pins, plus the 2025 Alumnus of the Year Rosewood Plaque and other Alumni recognitions

• Chapter & Alumni Updates:

  • Tom Mason – current status of SFASU

  • Chris Leonard – State of the Alumni Association

  • Brent Wilshire & Tristen Benningfield (Chapter Adviser) – State of the Active Chapter

This promises to be the best Alumni Dinner yet—private space, excellent food, meaningful awards, and fellowship—all without any cost or bookkeeping to the Texas Eta Alumni Association.

We’ve reserved two tents in the end zone, with food and drinks provided. Thanks to some of our more well-connected alumni, we’re able to secure several of these end-zone tents for our Texas Eta brothers and their guests.

Since it’s expected to be a 6:00pm game, we’ll likely continue the celebration at Fredonia Brewery afterward, carrying the fun into the evening. There’s also a chance we’ll gather at the Fredonia Hotel pool area, where we can catch the day games on the big screen with a cash bar before we head to teh tailgate which opens at 5:00pm (1 hour before game-time).

This is a Brotherhood Event open to the whole family—a perfect chance to show the younger guys how tailgating was done “back in the day.” These end-zone tents weren’t around when many of us were in school, so it’ll be a first-time experience for most, but from what we’ve heard, it’s an incredible atmosphere being so close to the action.

A block of rooms has also been reserved at the Fredonia Hotel.
